Puistojuhlat 2023 was held on 7 and 8 July. The festival will be held next on 4 and 5 July 2024.

 

Puistojuhlat is a grand experience on a pleasant scale. During the two-day festival, you can enjoy excellent live performances and restaurant services of the highest quality. This year the festival brings on stage nine top-notch Finnish artists.

Puistojuhlat is held at Lounaispuisto, in Uptown Jyväskylä. The atmospheric Lounaispuisto holds culture-historical significance, and has been a venue for different festivities since the 1880s. Come and enjoy the festival experience in the July twilight!

The event is organised by Jyväskylä Festival, the oldest continuously organized urban festival in the Nordic countries.

FESTIVAL AREA

Puistojuhlat is held in Lounaispuisto Park in Yläkaupunki area, Jyväskylä. The street address of Lounaispuisto is Minna Canthin katu 11, 40100.

RESTAURANTS

Food and drink are an essential part of a perfect festival experience. At Puistojuhlat, you can enjoy the supply of quality restaurants in a relaxed atmosphere.

TICKETS

  • 2 days 90 € (normal ticket) / 65 € (pensioner/unemployed/student/(non)military service/under 18 years)
  • 1 day 50 € (normal ticket) / 35 € (pensioner/unemployed/student/(non)military service/under 18 years)

Discount price is available for students, pensioners, unemployed, active military and non-military service members, and persons under the age of 18. Tickets are sold at puistojuhlat.fi (you are here!).

During the festival week, tickets are sold at the festival ticket office at Jyväskylä University Lähde library square (Seminaarinkatu 15), open 5.–11.7. at 12–18. During Puistojuhlat, tickets are also also sold at the entrance. The festival area entry and wristband checkpoint is located at the corner of Minna Canthin katu and Seminaarinkatu.

Accepted forms of payment are card payment, SmartumPay and Epassi.

Tickets are exchanged for wristbands, which allow you to move around, exit and re-enter the festival area freely. You can get your wristband in advance at the Jyväskylä Festival ticket office.

The age limit for the main festival area is 18 years. Tickets for persons under 18 grant access only to the age-limitless section of the festival area.

Parking near the festival area is limited.

AGE-LIMITLESS AREA

The age-limitless ticket allows entrance only to the age-limitless area of Puistojuhlat. Strollers and prams cannot be brought into the age-restricted area. The age-restricted area is located in the park’s stands on the lower platform in front of the stage, and may not be suitable for the youngest in the family.

 

STAY IN HOTEL ALBA DURING PUISTOJUHLAT

The cozy Finlandia Hotel Alba is located right on the shore of Lake Jyväsjärvi. Visitors of Puistojuhlat can stay at Hotel Alba during the Puistojuhlat Festival from July 6th to 7th at preferential prices. You can walk to Lounaispuisto from the peaceful lake scenery of Mattilanniemi in no time. The Aalto2 museum center, the Agora building of the University of Jyväskylä and other faculties are located nearby the hotel. It is also a short walk from the hotel to the center of Jyväskylä along the beach track.

ACCESSIBILITY

Lounaispuisto park is located on an irregular, downhill surface, and unfortunately the park is not fully accessible by wheelchair. Your assistant is allowed to enter the festival area without charge. There is an accessible bathroom at the festival area. There is no induction loop in Lounaispuisto.
